Functions of the Ford/International DT466
Features of the Ford/International DT466
The Ford DT466 debuted in the agricultural world in 1971. It was first used in four-wheel-drive tractors. In 1975, it was used on highway applications. The injection systems found in the DT466 went from mechanical to HEUI to it's current electro-hydraulic (G2) injection system. The DT engines are of a wet-sleeve design. This design is used in larger displacement Diesel Engines and enhances durability because the wall thickness of the sleeve allows for even heat transfer.
